Went to the Prom

Another weekend, another national park. You might have the impression, in fact, that we're spending all our time in national parks. Actually we spend most of our time in the city, but we don't usually carry cameras around unless we're in vacation mode. For example, I just got back from a meeting in Sydney but I forgot to bring my camera there - oops. If we remember, maybe we'll post some city pictures any month now.

In the mean time, we've posted some pictures from this past weekend's trip to Wilson's Promontory National Park (aka "The Prom" - which was pretty confusing at first: "You think we should go to the prom this weekend?"). This week's featured animals are the wombat, the emu, and of course the ever-popular kangaroo!

Dammit, where are the meeting photos, Anatole? I want to see government employees in their natural habitat! (No, I don't believe that you actually spend time in the city. Nyah.)

Still, your nature photos are lovely. The wombat took me right back to high school. And nice to see someone else who takes pictures of their shadow!

Right now it's a lot more interesting reading abour your life than living my own. ;)

more cities, less nature!

I mean, your photos are lovely. I'd be very interested to see more urban settings, if it's convenient.

Also, nature's for chumps.

Okay. I take it back. Nature's not for chumps.

If you can bring me back a wombat sign:

I'd be forever in your debt.

Oh my god. I had no idea how wonderful echidnas were. No idea.

I can't decide which I like better, the kangaroo chasing emu sign or the wombat sign. They're both great!

Hey wait a minute! I finally posted something and everyone thinks it was Anatole! Sadly it was me who was the idiot who didn't bring her camera to Syndey ;). I can assure everybody, though, that the view of the opera house from the harbour bridge would have made a very nice photo.

Oops. I guess I should try more of this "reading" thing I've heard so much about. I didn't even notice that the posts were signed -- maybe because it's in tiny letters, way down at the bottom.

I did wonder why Anatole was going to meetings, though, when apparently his intention in going to Australia was to lie on the beach. Of course, none of us really believed it...
